Foto galerija: Vatikanas

Vatican, Vatican City State (Lat. Vaticano, Italian: Stato della Citta del Vaticano) is a city-state, enclave in the western part of the Italian capital, Rome, on the Vatican Hill, the residence of the Pope. The Vatican is the smallest country in the world in terms of both population and area.

About 350 people have Vatican citizenship. The Vatican owns several objects in Rome, the pope’s summer residence in Castel Gandolfe (20 km from Rome).

Although the Vatican is very small, it has its own guard, postage stamps and other attributes of an independent state. Vatican Pride - St. Peter’s Basilica, considered the largest and most ornate Catholic church in the world.

Vatikanas, Vatikano Miesto Valstybė (lot. Vaticano, ital.
